I studied Biological Sciences at the University of Granada. Master in Study and Monitoring of Global Change at the University of Almeria and I have a PhD in Applied and Environmental Sciences from the University of Almeria. I have been a pre and postdoctoral contract at UAL/CAESCG, and I have worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Boise State University and the University of Michigan for a cumulative period of more than 4 years. Since January 1, 2022 I am working as a distinguished researcher at the University of Almeria through the Maria Zambrano program of the Ministry of Universities.
My teaching focuses on the use of computational resources and satellite information to advance the study of social-ecological systems. I have taught data analysis and remote sensing tools at several universities in the United States, as well as in the Global Change course in the Master in Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Services at the University of Almeria.
RESEARCH
My research interests focus on quantitative ecology applied to the analysis of the impact of human activities on ecosystems. I am interested in socio-ecological approaches to address complex questions and the use of satellite information to carry out large-scale approaches. The lines of research I deal with range from quantitative ecology or global change to conservation, remote sensing and social-ecological systems.
