I studied at the University of Almeria. I have a degree in Environmental Sciences, a PhD in applied and environmental sciences, and a Master in assessment and monitoring of Global Change. I have been a predoctoral researcher at the UAL/CAESCG and at the Madrid socioecosystems laboratory at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Subsequently, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Idaho State University (USA) and at the University of Kassel (Germany) conducting research related to the analysis of social-ecological systems and teaching in sustainability sciences, ecological agriculture and agroforestry systems.
Since February 2021 I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Almeria. My work focuses on understanding human-nature connections and relationships to promote more sustainable socio-ecological systems. My teaching covers sustainability science and ecosystem services valuation. I teach the subject/s of ecosystem services in the Master of natural resources management at UAL, and the subject of sustainability sciences in the degree of sustainability at the University of Leuphana (Germany). RESEARCH
My research interests are focused on a better understanding of human-nature relationships, to better understand how we interact with the natural environment with special interest in the rural environment and its biocultural values. In addition, I develop research with a gender perspective to promote more equitable systems and to make visible the role of women in sustainability.
